Since Wilsden Village Hall was established in 1976, it has been the hub of the community in the village and surrounding areas. The hall has hosted many events and been home to dozens of groups and classes over the decades.

In June this year Wilsden Village Hall will be 50 years old! To mark this mile-stone we are planning two special events, both on Saturday 13th June where we hope many local residents will come along to join the celebrations! The first event will be an afternoon fete with craft stalls, a tombola, a bouncy castle, pop-up bars, refreshments and entertainment from Vanessa’s dance School, Wilsden Primary School choir, a performance from Adare singing 50s and 60s Rock n Roll classics, the Bingley Ukulele band and Trinity Choir. There will be a “Wilsden Past & Present” room with presentations by local historian, Astrid Hansen and displays showcasing the wonderful local businesses that Wilsden has on offer, the variety of User Groups available at the village hall and a gallery of pictures from Wilsden Primary School.

The second event will be an evening of musical entertainment courtesy of the amazing “Eddie Earthquake & The Tremors”, talented Wilsden duo Hazjak and local singer Charlie Conway. The evening will also include a spot of magic from “The Happiest Magician on the Planet” – Steve Gore and some poetic humour from “The Shropshire Bard” – Dave Parkes! Tickets for the evening event are £8 each and will be available from Wednesday 1st April to book online via Eventbrite (www.eventbrite.co.uk) or to purchase at Wilsden Community Post Office. Tickets are limited so buy them soon to avoid missing out on this fabulous night!

As with any large events, we rely on the help and support of volunteers to join us and lend a hand with jobs such as setting up tables, chairs and equipment, running the bar and helping to clear up. If you would be available to help at either the daytime or evening event, please do get in touch. Any help, even for an hour, would be much appreciated!
