Fundraising

Wilsden Village Hall is a self-funding charity, covering running costs through a combination of user fees and fundraising. The increasing cost of repairs to our ageing building means there are fewer funds to allocate to refurbishments, and we are calling on village residents to help us raise money to make the hall a better, pleasanter place for their groups to meet.

Wilsden Village Hall Urgent Flood Appeal

A message from hall manager Milton Pearson about our new appeal

Generally, you wouldn’t think a building built on a hillside could be subject to flood damage. Well, I can assure you they can be. The lower hall (nursery) and the void in Wilsden Village Hall have been the victim of two serious flooding incidents and several minor ones during the last three years. This is the result of both the age of the building (which is now over 43 years old) and climate change, which has led to increased heavy rainfall.

To help preserve Wilsden Village Hall for future generations, I am asking for your help. You can make a positive difference by donating either £5, £10 or £20 (as much or little as you feel you can contribute) towards the cost of the installation of a flood defence system. We are hoping to raise part of the cost through local donations. Our target sum is £1000. Our thanks to Wilsden Parish Council, which has agreed to contribute towards the cost as well.

You can donate using the PayPal link below. Alternatively you can donate by cheque, made payable to Wilsden Village Hall.
