Wilsden Beer Festival 2019 – it’s back and it’s better than ever!

It’s back bigger and better than before

Saturday 1st June between Noon and 9PM

Wilsden Beer Festival has taken place at the village hall annually since 2011, in late or early June. Originally conceived as a one-off event, it is now one of our biggest fundraisers and an indispensable item on Wilsden’s social calendar every year.  Unfortunately, last year 2018, we had to cancel the event however this year, we have a great opportunity to restart and continue better than ever.

The festival is usually built around a theme and we have previously used ‘The War of the Roses’ as such. Entry costs £5 for a ticket and includes a souvenir pint glass and the first pint free. The event also includes live music, and food will be available.

Our local businesses are asked to sponsor the event in addition to individuals, who have the opportunity to have their name on the souvenir pint glasses. If you are interested for future sponsorship opportunities please contact us.

This year’s 30 Miles Beer & Gin Sling themed festival will take place at the Village Hall on Saturday 1st June, opening at 12:00pm noon and closing at 9pm with 12 beers, 2 lagers and 4 ciders from across West Yorkshire available.

Entrance will again be £5 per ticket, which includes a pint of your choice and one of our much-coveted souvenir beer glasses (while stocks last!). As an alternative, we do have a smaller quantity of Dartington Crystal Gin glasses available with your ticket [first come first served basis] together with tokens for a free gin of your choice at the Gin Bar.  Tonics will be extra on this occasion.  You can buy a ticket in advance from Milton or Paul in their office at the Village Hall – open Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 3.30pm, and they are also available at Wilsden Post Office and the bar of The Ling Bob.  We do not intend to reserve a glass for you however, and they are only available on the day until stocks last.

This year, we have introduced a token system to pay for goods.  Tokens are only available at the ticket desk.  Please check there for any discount offers that may apply.

In addition to the beers, lagers, ciders and gins, there will be a great selection of fine red & white wines, plus free soft drinks for the under 18s. As with all events servings alcohol, we fully comply with responsible vending and do operate a Challenge25 policy so if you are fortunate to appear less than 25 please ensure you have appropriate proof of age e.g. driving licence, passport or birth certificate.

This year, we welcome families to come along and enjoy the day and children are most welcomed to join their parents until 6pm – there will be a selection of outdoor games to keep them entertained – weather permitting.

There will be a cafe serving a selection of Greek Street Food, together with a Hog Roast available from approximately 2pm and live acoustic music between 3pm and 7pm.

Please do come along – the Beer & Gin Festival is always a great day out, and every penny raised will go to the Village Hall, a registered charity, and help it keep serving the community many years into the future.
