The programme for this year’s Wilsden Gala is now on sale from a doorstep near you!
Members of the Wilsden Gala Committee and their “minions” from the Brownies and Guides will be going door to door around the village in the next few weeks to sell the programmes before gala day on 5th July.
Each one costs 50p, which includes a tear-off slip for raffle entry on the day. Just fill in your contact details and put your slip in the box in the central arena on gala day to be in with a chance to win a host of goodies donated by local businesses and individuals, including beer from the New Inn and vouchers from shops including Wilsden Balti, Krave Deli and Vanilla Spa.
The cover for this year’s programme is by seven-year-old Mary Hague, following a competition for local children to create a design around their chosen theme. Mary chose the theme Animals. Her winning theme and cover design were unveiled at this year’s gala disco back in March, when the gala king, queen and attendants were also revealed.
The 2015 Wilsden Gala will take place on Sunday 5th July at Wilsden Cricket Field from 2pm, with the traditional fancy dress procession (on Mary’s winning theme of Animals) through the village beginning from the village hall at 1pm.
All profits from programme sales go towards future galas and village hall funds.
